Overview
BVV Sangha's Basaveshwar Engineering College re-established the Automobile Engineering department in 2024-25 to develop automotive-specialized professionals in North Karnataka. With a sanctioned intake of 30 students and a carpet area of 11,000 sq. ft., the department houses dedicated laboratories — Automotive CAD, Automobile Servicing, Automobile Reconditioning, Automobile Scanning, Automotive Electrical & Electronics, and Vehicle Testing. With faculty averaging over 25 years of teaching experience and Ph.D.s across diverse research areas, the department has more than 50 national/international publications and well-qualified technical staff. It plans student SAE activities such as SUPRA, BAJA, EFFICYCLE and GO-KART, and has initiated revenue-generation activities including a motor-vehicle driving school and third-party inspection.
