FOCUS — Forum of Computer Science Students

A student association of UG and PG students that aids overall personality development. Run by the students and monitored by faculty, it organizes curricular, extra-curricular and socio-cultural activities and technical events exposing students to state-of-the-art tools and technologies.

Deepotsava — Diya Decoration & Lantern Making (Oct 2025)

The department opened its 2025–26 activity calendar with Deepotsava, a colourful festival of lights on 17 October 2025, where students showcased their creativity in diya decoration and lantern-making competitions.

Code-Clash — Coding Competition (Oct 2025)

A coding competition, Code-Clash, was conducted on 20 October 2025 for third-semester students.

  • Rounds: Programming Quiz, Fill-in-the-Code, Reverse Coding, Integration, Debugging and a Crossword Puzzle, followed by live coding on HackerRank.
  • Participation: 140 students from the 3rd semester.

Arohana — Fresher's Day Celebration (Nov 2025)

The department welcomed its second-year students with Arohana, a Fresher's Day celebration on 7 November 2025, featuring a range of technical and non-technical events.

Karnataka Vaibhav — Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration (Nov 2025)

On the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava, the department celebrated Karnataka Vaibhav with cultural pride on 15 November 2025, organising Rangoli and Photography competitions.

'Coder of the Month' Initiative (Jan 2026)

Launched in January 2026, the 'Coder of the Month' initiative encourages CSE students to code consistently on online platforms. Each month, students' coding activity and performance are reviewed and the top performers are recognised.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Workshop (Feb 2026)

A Robotic Process Automation (RPA) workshop for third-year CSE students was held on 8 February 2026.

  • Covered RPA environment setup, automation tasks and mini-project applications.

Blind Coding Contest (Feb 2026)

A Blind Coding Contest for CSE, ISE, AIML and ECE students was held on 28 February 2026. The event tested programming skills without screen visibility, emphasising logical thinking, memory and debugging.

The department organised Utkarsha 2K26, a grand cultural fest, on 25 April 2026, featuring Short Film Making, Photography, E-Sports, Rangoli, Sketching, Dance, Singing, Drama and a Fashion Show.

TechIgnite 3.0 — Technical Fest (May 2026)

TechIgnite 3.0, a college-level technical fest, was held on 19–20 May 2026, with students from CSE, ISE, AIML, ECS and ECE competing in Byte-Battle, WebXcelerate, Triumphix, CipherQuest and Hacker Hunt.
