October 2025
- Ms. Geetanjali Patil and Ms. Sneha Hajare (3rd Semester) secured First and Third Place respectively in the BEC-IEEE Quiz-A-Thon, themed “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”, organized by the BEC-IEEE Student Branch (STB35261) on the occasion of IEEE Day 2025 (7–18 October 2025).
- Mr. Ganesh M. Dangi and Mr. Sudeep S. Badammanavar (5th Semester) secured the Runner-Up position in the Shuttle Badminton Zonal-Level Tournament (Kalaburagi Division) held at Vijayapura, organized by VTU.
- Mr. Parth P. Mane (5th Semester) secured the Winner’s position in the Table Tennis Zonal-Level Tournament held at BKEC, Basavakalyan, Bidar, organized by VTU.
- The Department organized “Lagori”, an outdoor event conducted by 4th-year students, on 31 October 2025. The team led by Priya L Rathod — with Anita Nayak, Kanchana M Naik, Ganga Malibiradar, Deepika Kambar, Chandana Patil and Jayashree M Ibrahimpoor — won the competition.
November 2025
- Our team secured the Kalaburagi Zonal Championship at the VTU Zonal Basketball Tournament held at Basaveshwar Engineering College on 14 November 2025. Participants: Nishchit V Rao, Sanjeev Malibiradar and Aditya Kashappa Sanadi.
- The Department organized an Intra-Department Sports Meet (31 October – 2 November 2025), conducted by 4th-year students, featuring outdoor games (Cricket, Volleyball, Super Six, 3B 3G, Lagori, Relay) and indoor games (Badminton, Carrom, Table-Tennis, Chess).
- Super 6 Winners: Samarth Nyamagoudar, VeerKumar Killedar, Vishwanath Pattar, Pratik Satyanaik, Abhishek Vadavadagi and Sampath Bagoji.
- Volleyball Winners: Samarth Nyamagoudar, Sampath Bagoji, Vishwanath Pattar, Abhishek Babaleshwar, Vinay Hiremath and Abhishek Vadavadagi.
- Cricket (5th Semester) Winners — “Team Alpha” led by Pranav Korwar, with Advait T, Punith B, Samarth S, Vinayak G, Sudeep B, Prateek B, Naveen U, Soham P, Sumeet K, Parth M and Ram Kumar.
- Carrom (5th Semester) Winners — Advait T and Punith B.
December 2025
- ISE students participated in the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Workshop at Techfest, IIT Bombay (21–25 December 2025), gaining hands-on exposure to advanced technologies and interaction with experts from academia and industry.
- Mr. Shubham Malaji (7th Semester) was selected by Infosys for the role of Specialist Programmer – L1, with a package of ₹10 LPA.
January 2026
- Ms. Nidhi Rathi (7th Semester) was selected for an internship at Wesco International with a stipend of ₹25,000 per month.
- Mr. Arun R. Hatti (7th Semester) was selected by IBM with a package of ₹11 LPA.
- Ms. Sanjana Karne secured 1st place in the Drawing and Arts Competition organized by the Department of MBA on 13 January 2026.
February 2026
- Our students secured the First and Second Prizes in the Project Contest held on 21 February 2026 at Basaveshwar Engineering College. First Prize — Samarth Sugandhi, Soham Patil and Aditya R. Pattar; Second Prize — Aishwarya Sangam, Aishwarya Bhandarakavate, Rohit Lokare and Vaibhav Kulkarni.
- Ms. Shrilaxmi Gondi and Ms. Aishwarya Shettar (6th Semester) secured First Place in the “Code and Debugging” event held on 22 February 2026 at University BDT College of Engineering, Davanagere.
- Ms. Neha Basavanal (6th Semester) participated in Bharatanatyam during Hampi Utsava (13–15 February 2026).
- Ms. Soujanya Mohare (6th Semester) successfully completed the Alankar Final Examination conducted by Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Miraj, Maharashtra.
- Ms. Shalini Hiregoudar participated in a Bharatanatyam event organized by the Indian Art & Culture Federation under the Nobel World Records attempt on 22 February 2026, recognized as a new world record.
- A total of 16 students from the 8th Semester and 3 students from the 6th Semester appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026.
- BEC Swara members — Kshama Pendse, Gouri Desai and Chinmayi Bhopadekar — along with Prof. P. V. Kulkarni, participated in Sangeet Shivaratri at Shivalaya Temple on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
March 2026
- 6th Semester students secured both the First and Second Prizes at the National Level 24-Hour Hackathon WAVE 3.0, organized by Basaveshwar Engineering College on 13–14 March 2026 (600 participants). First Prize (₹25,000) — Samarth Sugandhi and Sangam Gaddi; Second Prize (₹15,000, all-girls team) — Preeti Devaraddi, Mayuri Kodolli, Kangoni Mayuri and Soumya Tiparaddi.
- 4th Semester students secured the Second Prize in the dance competition at the National-level Kurukshetra event organized by the Department of Management Studies (DOMS), BEC, on 24 March 2026. Team: Shalini, Shantala, Subhashini, Kashamma, Sushma and Spandana.
- Ms. Kshama Pendse (6th Semester) participated in “Haridasa Namana” on 8 March 2026, organized on the occasion of Vadirajara Aradhane at Shree Raghavendra Matha, Jamkhandi.
- 6th Semester students secured the Second Prize (₹2,000) in the college-level Ideawave competition conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 12 March 2026. Team: Madhu G, Rahul B, Mahesh M and Nischit R.
April 2026
- 6th Semester students secured the First Prize (₹15,000) in the “WebSprint” event held at Presidency University on 9 April 2026. Team: Samarth Sugandhi, Sangam Gaddi, Vikas Kannur and Aditya R Pattar.
- Ms. Sanjana D. Karne (4th Semester) secured First Place in the Rangoli Competition at UTKARSHA 2K26, held at Basaveshwar Engineering College on 24–25 April 2026.
- ISE interns participated in a plantation drive organized by Infobell Pvt. Ltd. (as part of its CSR initiative) at the College of Agriculture, GKVK on 24 April 2026.
May 2026
- The Department conducted “Byte & Bite” on 30 May 2026, featuring two competitions — Think. Build. Publish and Cooking Without Fire. Think. Build. Publish Winners: 1st — Team Pixel; 2nd — Team Hacksmit & Team Reel Intelligence. Cooking Without Fire Winners: 1st — Khana Khazana; 2nd — Royal Recipe.
- Mr. Hemank Paliwal and Ms. Diva Paliwal secured top positions in the NPTEL course “Education for Sustainable Development” with outstanding scores.
- Ms. Nidhi Rathi completed the NPTEL course “Air Pollution and Control” (IIT Roorkee, Jan–Apr 2026 session), securing an Elite Certificate with a consolidated score of 79% and ranking among the Top 5% of 8,850 certified candidates.
- NPTEL performance (6th Semester): 50 students scored above 90% and 50 students scored between 75–89%, out of 113 participants.
- Mr. Suraj Deshpande and team (4th Semester) secured 3rd place in the “Debate” and “Spin Pitch” events at the Techno Cultural Fest conducted by KLE BVB (8–10 May 2026).
- Akarsh, Darshan and Manoj (4th Semester) secured 2nd place in the “Prompt to App” event at CIRCUTECH 2026 (26 May 2026).
- Nikhil, Vivek and team secured 1st place in the “BGMI Showdown” at CIRCUTECH 2026.
- Keertana and Deepika secured 2nd place in the “Claytopia” event at CIRCUTECH 2026.
- Sahana Kalhol, Sudharani Nagathan, Santosh Malabadi and team (6th Semester) secured 1st and 2nd places in the WEBXCELERATE event conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (19–20 May 2026).
